Dark Triad
A recent chateau post linked to an article that points out a disturbing truth in social psychology; although the readers here would find everything in the article to be predictable, even obvious. The “Dark Triad,” a combination of three personality traits (narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism) seems to be a frequent precursor to getting a shitload of poon. The reasons are obvious and I will contend that these traits are beneficial in anything competitive, from the secksual market to sports and business.
The personality traits that compose the Dark Triad have typically been considered abnormal, pathological and inherently maladaptive (e.g. Kowalski, 2001). Although individuals with these traits inflict costs to others and themselves, the Dark Triad traits are also associated with some qualities, including a drive for power (Bradlee&Emmons, 1992; Foster et al., 2006), low neuroticism (Taylor & Armor, 1996) and extraversion (Paulhus & Williams, 2002), that may be beneficial. Together with low amounts of empathy and agreeableness (Paulhus, 2001), such traits may facilitate–especially for men–the pursuit of an exploitative short-term mating strategy. Although our study is limited, it suggests a potentially interesting new avenue of research to explore. More generally, the application of evolutionary reasoning to the study of personality traits may yield fruitful insights into the wide array of individual differences that exist on various dimensions (e.g. Keller & Miller, 2006; Penke et al., 2007).
It should be noted that the term “mal-adaptive” is inherently relative. A short-term mating strategy where a guy chronically smashes and dashes might be considered as cost-worthy to the WOMEN who suffer from his apathy, and the nice-guys who have to serve as emotional tampons for their darker counterparts, but in terms of his own primitive instinct to bust in as many women as possible, it’s really not that bad. A guy acting pathologically “abnormal” in this way is akin to a lion committing infanticide to guarantee his OWN offspring have the highest chances of survival. Calling it “immoral” would be attaching our own moral standards to biomechanics, something that functions outside of any ethical framework. It doesn’t matter if it’s immoral. An organism has two primary drives; self-preservation and a need to replicate its genes. The dark triad traits, even if they are damaging to the species as a WHOLE, guarantees an uncanny advantage in both.
The advantage to narcissism is obvious. “A narcissistic personality is characterized by a grandiose self-view, a sense of entitlement, lack of empathy, and egotism” Almost the textbook definition of irrational confidence. Sure substantial confidence, the type backed up by wealth and power, might be more “real,” but who gives a fuck? And anyways, to GET wealth and power in the first place, you already NEED that sense of entitlement and megalomania. To all of you younger guys out there, want to know why girls your age are so attracted to the biggest assholes? Because they are subconsciously able to categorize these guys as “MOST CAPABLE of great achievement.” As you think, you shall become, so which guy has a higher chance of becoming great; the one who SEES himself as a demi-god, or the one who sees himself as a meager being?
“The Machiavellian personality is characterized by manipulation and exploitation of others, with a cynical disregard for morality and a focus on self-interest and deception.” By manipulation, they mean an ability to get other people to do things for you; like work for you or sleep with you. The term has negative connotations to it but a disregard for morality is a necessary factor for owning Poon. As a guy, your purpose is to fuck as many women as possible. If you FEEL GUILTY about it, you’re feeling guilty about your own nature. As cynical as it sounds, your conditioned sense of morality is NOT the universal way of doing things right. Monogamy, like marriage, is a NEW tradition. And ask any well-educated and successful businessman around you; what was the most useless class they took in college? Business Ethics 101.
“The psychopath, or antisocial personality, is characterized by impulsive thrill-seeking, and in its “primary” form by selfishness, callousness, lack of personal affect, superficial charm, and remorselessness.” There are several effects of subclinical psychopathy. First, it makes a person immensely interested in being power-hungry and hedonistic; more so than being social and qualifying themselves to other people. Sound familiar? It’s a NATURAL ADAPTATION of what betas try and do to become Alpha. Second, they are much more focused on their goals, and have no problem with fucking other people over. Here’s a truth you’ll find shocking. It’s easy as fuck to sleep with girls. It doesn’t matter if they’re married, lesbian, or even mermaids. The effort you put into sleeping with women is unnecessary, you put in that effort because The Matrix tells you that it’s the amount of effort you need to put in. And here’s the kicker for being semi-psychopathic, you become so disillusioned by the prospect of spending any EXTRA EFFORT in sleeping with a girl, you cut all that extra bullshit out. And third, thrill seeking makes you more prone to doing things that convey fearlessness, which indirectly portrays confidence. Confidence, after all, is only the refined attitude that comes from a fearless perspective on life.

What does it mean when a girl is super clingy to me online (over facebook with her wall posts and messages), but cold in person? I game her online with good success, but when I try to even talk to her up front, she seems resentful and unwilling. I think it might be because my game is too focused on push rather than pull; I ignore her frequently online and don’t react as she might expect a normal person to react to her boy problems and needs for attention. I know I’m giving you little information, but what is your take on this?
I know what you mean. My ex was exactly the same only via text. E.g. Saying she was looking forward to seeing me and then I’d turn up and give me the impression she wanted the opposite.

Don’t seem like your trying.
I lost most of my male friends, since i became a real man (alpha). And most of them feel im a threat ,because of my success with girls and the few i have left do not invite me to parties anymore. Is this normal, because everyone reacts deferently towards me now? (more respect, paying attention when i speak)

Fuck… I just realized how fucked up I’ve become since last fall – I had a taste of this but somehow let it slip away with my return home. This reinforces my perspective on why I need to move away from my family as soon as the next couple paychecks role in. I began to both hate and respect my environment with every ounce of my being back then, feeling the low of being out of a long term relationship and being in such an isolated state. I felt that my surrounding environment was there to be manipulated to my purpose. So that’s what I did. Then I slipped.
I believed I could be a nice guy too – and all the old baggage I carried came with it including all the inhibiting beta social niceties I was raised with as a kid. Fuck it, as I said before I know what I want – I’ve just been too inhibited recently to reach out and grab it. I need to artificially inject a new low into my life so that what I’m feeling now can keep burning strong.
I like to think that if there was only one man left on earth who had to fight against legions of aliens and monsters, what kind of man would stand a chance?
A muscle-bound, manipulative, overconfident psychopath with zero pity, that’s who.
